5 Days in Paris: Sharing

Sharing Paris

Of all the holidays, Christmas has always been my favorite, mostly because of the gift of giving. Sure I love to receive gifts, but the truly rewarding part of exchanging gifts is giving to others. There is nothing more satisfying then seeing the joy a gift has brought to the person I have given it to.

Luxembourg Gardens

I am so fortunate to experience the same sense of satisfaction and sharing when I introduce someone to one of my favorite places. Since I adore Paris, it’s especially fun and soul nurturing when I am able to show a newcomer my special locations. Like the expression on the face of someone opening that special blue box from Tiffany’s, turning a street corner and seeing them suddenly realizing they are actually standing in the majesty of the Arc de Triumph or the splendor of the Eifel Tower is a moment I love to share.

The food was hopefully great and the wine exceptional. A croque monsieur or a crepe suzette from a street vendor may have been the highlight of the day. However, sharing travel, food and fun is what life is all about for me.  It has been my great pleasure to have had this experience with my parents, in-laws, siblings and friends, and it never fails to fill my heart each time I see the awe in their eyes or hear the wows as their jaws drop in amazement.

Paris Pastries

Capturing that moment in a photo and knowing that years from now they will be able to look back and relive that moment and the emotions they experienced is truly a gift I enjoy giving. What can be more satisfying than knowing you were able to help provide the ultimate gift? When all else is gone, they will always have their memories.

Share something you love with another person and experience the joy of giving. Give them the gift of a photo you took with them and you will give them a life long memory!

    Brad,
I am enjoying receiving your weekly blog and must say you are an eloquent writer as well.

I love what you wrote in your blog this week -“Share something you love with another person and experience the joy of giving. Give them the gift of a photo you took with them and you will give them a lifelong memory!”

Indeed – what a wonderful idea.
