Shooting Solara in Sanford, Florida

I recently returned from shooting a brand new multi-family property in the rapidly growing Orlando suburb of Sanford, Florida. The owner of the property saw my photos of Two21 Armstrong in Auburn, AL and hired me to shoot their still under construction property for its website and marketing materials.

The shoot included twilight pool photos which always complicates the logistics of travel since the perfect timing of glowing blue skies doesn’t always coordinate well with flight schedules. In this case it was the perfect opportunity to have dinner with and spend some time visiting my mother who lives nearby.

The property’s name is Solara and it was extremely well decorated. There were plenty of challenges with tons of glass walls and reflective surfaces that cause photographers to pull their hair out. On top of that, it was Central Florida which means tons of direct sunlight that can also be very tricky to deal with in photographs.

Despite the technical difficulties of dealing with tons of glass, the Florida sun, heat and mosquitos that joined our evening pool shoot, the final photos show the property in its best light, pardon the pun!

Fortunately, the weather was perfect and the twilight shoot turned out exactly as planned. You can see the complete package of photos on the Solara website by clicking here.

I hope the owner has as much success with this property as I had fun shooting it with my favorite Florida photography assistant, my mom.
